How to Optimize E-Learning Programs at School

E-Learning is the use of electronic media used to deliver learning materials. Most assume that E-Learning is intended here more directed to the use of computer technology and the Internet. In Indonesia there are many elementary schools that apply E-Learning. However, the implementation of E-Learning has not been effective and programmed. Therefore, this article will discuss how to program the effective use of E-Learning media.

Which is still often a problem in E-Learning is the use of E-Learning media is still less effective and the preparation of E-Learning program has not been maximized. Therefore, this article will discuss and find solutions to various problems.

Media is one of the important factors that determine the success of learning. Through the media, the learning process can be more interesting and fun. In addition, the use of media can also help clarify the learning materials. Information submitted orally is sometimes not understood by the students, especially if the teacher is less intelligent in explaining the material. This is where the role of media as a tool to clarify the learning materials. The use of learning media based on E-Learning is expected to facilitate students in understanding learning materials. In addition, E-Learning also makes learning more effective because it can help students learn independently. Learning can also be done in different distances and times. But in fact, the use of learning media is still less effective.

The problems that often arise in the implementation of E-Learning include:

1) not all teachers are willing to accept the existence of E-Learning,

2) not all teachers are able to master and use E-Learning,

3) ITC media prices are still expensive,

4) some media such as LCD, wireless number is still limited so its usage must be arranged.

Some of the problems above, often cause the implementation of E-Learning in primary schools is less than optimal. Therefore, need for the preparation of programs to optimize the use of E-Learning media. One of the programs that can be done is the provision of E-Learning blog. Blog stands for web blog, which is a form of web application in the form of various kinds of content or writings that can be published on a public web page. Websites such as these are usually accessible to all Internet users according to the necessary discussion and purpose of the user.

The blog can be designed with a concept that can attract students' interest in exploring the E-Learning blog that the teacher has provided. Making this blog in enable to provide complete teaching materials both interactive and non interactive. For example: Natural disaster material in social science learning is delivered by asking about events related to natural disasters, for example volcano erupts: the teacher displays a mountain eruption process. With conventional learning students can not see directly the process of how the eruption of the mountain occurred. Likewise floods, storms, and others.

With this blog students can see the process of how the occurrence of natural disasters through a video that has been uploaded by the teacher. All teaching materials available in the E-Learning blog can make it easier for students to learn learning materials that should not be learned during school hours, but can also be learned at home. Inside the blog also provided the questions that can be used as an evaluation material. After viewing the image or video or reading the material in the blog, then the students are directed to work on the questions as an evaluation material.

In addition to facilitate students in the learning process, making the media program based on E-Learning blog is also aimed to equip students in operating internet services well to keep up with the modern times. However, when students access learning materials through E-Learning must be careful, because we have found many sites and content that contains videos and pornographic images that can damage the child's brain.

Therefore, when students open the web should be in supervision or assistance from the school and family so that children do not fall into the negative things.

To support E-Learning learning in primary school, it is necessary to provide some supporting equipment. Among them: each class needs 1 computer unit, need internet connection, audio-visual (Tv, tape recorder), LCD, both portable and permanent, learning resource center that provides ICT-based learning service and program.

E-Learning can be implemented with empirical examples, so students can feel and see the facts directly. For example, when learning takes the theme of a natural disaster, about the eruption of Mount Eruption, from that theme we can show a video of how the mountain erupted through internet facilities. With conventional learning students can not see firsthand how the process of the eruption of the mountain. So also with other natural disasters. But by using ICT media, everything is clearly visible. Students can watch the process. The material as above is available complete on the internet. Teachers can download material on the internet and can be served using LCD. With the use of E-Learning, learning will be more interesting, so that students can receive the material well.

So, learning will be more effective and fun because the teachers stay to command the students to operate the computer according to the teacher's direction. Teachers also guide students not to open sites that deviate from learning materials. Or schools can block certain sites that are not recommended for students to open, so students can only open sites that match the learning materials being taught. Schools can also start by introducing students with word processing applications such as: Ms.Word, Ms.Power Point, Ms.Excel and so on for their capital before entering the next school.

Therefore, it is necessary to provide supportive tools to optimize the E-Learning program in primary schools. Provision of equipment can be done by submitting a proposal for the less able schools. In addition to equipment that must be adequate, must also be supported by a mature program so that the implementation of E-Learning can run well. Disadvantages in E-Learning can also be overcome, through well-established communication between teachers and students.

Optimizing the use of media in E-Learning can be done using existing media to be associated with learning to be taught, so not only during ICT course schedule only. Therefore, with the creation of a good and planned program, is expected to reduce the obstacles that often arise in E-Learning. Students will be more interested in learning activities using E-Learning. Therefore, with E-Learning, it is expected to improve the quality of learning and student learning outcomes in primary schools is increasing.
